Boitekanelo College Wheelchair Donation Drive
This was launched on 15 September 2023, when Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital was the first beneficiary of 5 wheelchairs and 10 drip stands. The college’s mission is to change the lives of the communities it operates in. This is why its management took this decision to give back to the public health sector. This drive aims to assist the public health sector in improving patient service delivery, particularly patients with mobility constraints. Since this CSR initiative inception, Boitekanelo College has donated over 50 wheelchairs and 45 drip stands in 8 towns and villages across the country, including Princes Marina Hospital that received 10 wheelchairs and 15 drip stands on 22 November.
Through its Occupational Therapy Department, the college also donated 10 wheelchairs to the Mogoditshane Cheshire Foundation, to aid mobility for children with disabilities. Through this wheelchair donation drive, the college is actively contributing to the well-being and inclusivity of the community. The college’s corporate social responsibility efforts extend beyond its core educational mission, showcasing its dedication to making a positive impact on society. By focusing on wheelchair donation, the college is addressing a specific need within the healthcare sphere and working towards creating a more inclusive and accessible environment for all individuals.
