School Of Public Health

The School of Public Health prides in its responsibility to improve and protect the health of Botswana and Africa's population. This is achieved through the School's innovative approach to curricula design that takes cognizance of local and trans-border health issues. Central to the School's academic offerings (which are constantly appraised to remain relevant) is prevention of diseases and promotion of health through teaching, research, and community involvement. Aligned to the College's vision, the School of Public Health seeks to be the “regional centre of excellence with core emphasis on a holistic [public] health education and training”. To that extent, the School exists to provide excellent life-long learning opportunities to learners by developing their intellectual capacities that can allow them to function as leading agents of change in their chosen disciplines.

The School is also mindful of its responsibility to both the leaner and society at large and strives to enact a teaching, learning and research philosophy with a humanistic approach to it.The School recognizes health as a public good and fundamental right, determined by multifaceted [and often complex issues] factors that need to be managed at all levels of society. The School of Public Health continues to engage with relevant stakeholders regarding the prevailing and emerging public health issues in order to provide innovative and lasting solutions.
